TO H GOOD ROAD mm (Observer Spcrial) Washington. Jan. 29 Good roads in the West, especially the Northwest, will be discussed more the coming few months than ever. In this movement Oregon and Washington have front place. The first demonstrations to be made will be in these two states. Senator Fulton and Samuel Hill have completed arrangements for the two miles of experimental high way, which will be built in Pendleton and Salem at an early date. Mr. Hill, who is president of the Washington Good Roads Association, and second official in the national bureau of good roads, will attend in person the Oregon work, bringing six to seven experts, three carloads of ma chinary and will see that the work is done according to the standard established b) the "od roads Deoole tnrouohout the :".try.'. H? c"'n p.,ifm, tn in terest the people of his state in the dem onstrations, and secure the largest pjssi- -le attendance, which the senator agreed to do. As soon as the date of the work is known, the senator w.ll publish the fact wjdely, and urge the county com- mssioners of every county of the state to be present at one or the other of the places when the mile of road is beinj buit. '- . The effect of this good roads campaign is already assured wide benefits, benator Fulton has become one of the most eager champions of the work, and is gathering for consideration important figures on what it means to his state. Owing to the radically climatic conditions on the two sides of the Cascade range, he believes his state offers an admirable field foi tests. Mr. Hill, while a citizen of Wash ington, is vary familiar with conditions in Oregon, and has been impartial in his work to help both states at the same time. The following is copied from the "story", on s n ill boy handed her, with the confident assurance that he knew it was all right. foJ he had studied very hard over it: "The human body is divided into three parts; the head, the thorax and the 'ab domen. "The head contains the breins, if there are any; the thorax contains the heart and the vital organs, and the abdomen the vowels, of which there are five, a. e. i, o, and u, and so natimes w and y." WHAT ANGORA G3ATS ARE GOOD EOR To begin with they are good for eating, the mohair brings in a fine income each year and for clearing up woods and brush they are especially valuable. They in common with sheep, enrich the surface of the land over wh eh they pasture. They produce the tiist 3ii. !t pjl'.i for ru;i and other purposes. The pelts take bright colored dyes readily and a muff or r Jg of any color may be produced. These are a few of the things for which Angoras are valuable. Orange Judd Farmer.
