ciety of the Methodist church met this
afternoon with Mrs. F. B. Currey at her

Conductor J. L. McCrary, of th Pen
dleton-Huntington passenger run on the
O. R. & N is taking a few days' vacation
and Conductor H. C. Crady is on the run
in his place.
Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Tucker of Tekoa
Wash, are in th city on a short visit
Mr. Tucker was formerly on the railroad
out of this city and holps a like position
out of Teko.

The O. N. 0. and the Commercial Club
teams will meat agiin tomorrow evening
at the Armory hall. The usual price will

JOINT INSTALLATION
The Modern Woodmen of America and
the Royal Neighbors will hold joint in
stallation Friday evening at the I. O. O. F.
hall. All members and their families are
invited. A banquet will be served, after
the installation.

PRIMARY NOMINATING ELECTION NOTICE
Notice is hereby given, that on the
10th day of February, 1906, in the city
of La Grande. County of Union, State of
Oregon, a primary nominating election
will be held, at which the Republican,
Democratic, Socialist and Prohibition
parties will choose their candidates for
ths offices cf the above named city, as
follows: Mayor, Treasurer, Marshal,
Recorder, one Councilman from the First
Ward one from the Second Ward, one
from th Third Ward and two from the
Fourth Ward, which election will be held
at 1 2 o'clock noon and will continue un
til 7 o'clock in the afternoon of said day.
