The city of Colorado Sprjngs Colo., under the supervision of the Chamber of Commerce, is making arrangement for the centennial celebration of the' dis covery of Pike's Peak. The celebration will be held next September. This celebration promises to be the greatest event ever held in the state. It it to be a state affair, but th entire nation it ex pected to join Colorado In honoring the nam of th great soldier and explorer, who in 1806 first discovered th peak. The expanse of th celebration is to be met by public subscription. In this issue appears an interview from Mr Brown, who has just returned from the east, where he has been for the past three months, in the interest of the pro posed electric road, now known as the Central Railway. This is good news and the men who have been promoting it are certainly to be congratulated upon their perseverence. They have asked nothing from anyone in this valley and have ex pended no small sum of money in arrang ing the data for presentation to eastern capitalists. We wish them success for the benefits that the road will do this valley also that they may be repaid for the part they have taken in bringing it about. A ILL HE BACK DUW'N? Congress will meet on next Monday at noon, but will do little more than shake hands, and gather courage for the work it is about to tackle by comparing notes from the different parts of the country and adjourn until Tuesday. The message from the president will be sent to congress on Tuesday, when if nothing occurs, it will be read. Just what this message will contain is th absorbing question at th:s time.
