Prominent among ' the social events of the week was the whist party given by Mrs. Q. McCully," Wednesday afternoon, at her home on N. Street Tables were arranged for eighteen couples. The first and second prizes were won by Mrs. Mosby and Mrs. Swaney, and the conso lation was awarded Mrs. Crawford. Mrs. McCully was assissted by Mrs. F. E. Show Last Night There may have been a time when the La Grande audience demanded a flow of rather indecent language to amuse them at a theatre performance, but that time is past "The Marriage of Kitty," should result in an early divorce ai it was so unsuccessful. The telegram did not state the nature of the disease that caused his death. The young man was twenty four years. Funeral arrangments have not yet been made, but Mr. and Mrs. Prescott and Mr. and Mr. A. P. Nelson will leave this evening for Boise to attend the fun eral.
