DufTey at plaintiff and Karl J. Stackland et ai. as .defend ants, has been settled and dismissed and J. W. Knowles and Karl Stackland re covered their cost from the plaintiff. Ten miners lien have been filed against the Carson Consolidated Mines by work men formerly employed there. F. S. Ivanhoe represents the whole number in court An injunction has been filed by James H. Rinehart and Enos Fisher to prevent J. T. Woodell from diverting the flow of Willow creek from its natural channel. Crawford A Crawford represent the plaintiffs. In the case of Matilda Mitchell, plaintiff, and Charles Nelson, defendant both of Cove, the plaintiff has been granted the relief prayed for, excapt that the defendant shall be entitled to one half of the flow of water in a ' ditch de scribed in the complaint The case involved the water rights of lands. Kennedy was chosen chairman in the absence of Mayor Slater. '. ie petition of J. K. Fitzgerald and other asking for a sidewalk on portion of Fir street, was read and referred to the street committee. , .:- " A liquor license was granted to C. C. Rockwell for the State saloon on Depot street ' A resolution to improve North Fir street was adopted. Mayor Slater returned' ordinance No. S 1 7 with his disapproval and when referr ed back to the couacil, the veto was sus tained. The usual claims against the city were paid and work for the present on develop ing the springs up Mill canyon was sus pended. 'The option on these springs, which was held by W. J. Church, expired on the first of this month, and while the council thought it best at one time to se cure an extension, they finally decided that the city would have no trouble in se curing th property later. , The water committee had samples oj Morgan lake water for the inspection of the council and public, and will today send samples to the state board of health for analysis, and if It is as pure as it looks they will accept the proposition made by the company to give the city free water for thirty days and give th people an opportunity to test the water and if satis factory, and the council desires a contract they would be glad to furnish the city at a cheaper rata than it now costs to pump from the river. .Council adjourned until Wednesday night Nov. 16.
