Ray Palmer who was formorly one of the leading Baptist ministers in Portland and who held revival services in this city last year, will leave Portland in a few days to join the Chapman force of evangelists, who made such a remarkable tour of the Pacific coast cities last winter. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Huntington accom panied by their daughter, Mrs. Geo. H. Currey, left last evening for Portland where Mrs. Huntington goes to be treated for cancer of tie breast. It s extend that an operation will be necessary. While kit is evident that the disease has hAAn steadily working for some time, its true nature was not known until a few days ago. There is a movement on foot among the athletic young men of this city to organ ize a foot ball team which will have sufficient strength to defeat all comers. The team if formed will carry the banner of the Hockenberry night school and will be prepared to take chances'with any of the teams of the neighboring schools. As a matter of fact the scalps of the Baker High City school team' are the ones most desired and if arrangments can be made a game for Thanksgiving will be secured. A more complete and authentic annoncement will soon be and a forma1 challenge issured to the Baker City and Pendleton high schools. .
