was at its height, a forest tire destroyed
the home and contents of Mr. and
Mra bl Montgomery who iaiu uu
their homestead, about seven miles
northwest of this city. At the time
the fire reaoLed tbe borne, the, family
were oat fighting the firs and attempt
ing to save their p'operty, bat tbe gale
was so strong that tney were nnable to
contend, against the dimes, and baieiy
escaped with tbe clothing which they
wore. Tbey lost everything Including
