Moor and daughter, and a wagon laden with vrythlng need fol to" make camping comlorUbl, climbed the Milt to Morgan Lake, e- tabnahing there a very aeUghtlui camp equipped with all the latest improve- menta. Aa it waa nearly noon wherM we reached onr destination, dinner waa tha first number on the program AfUr dinner we proceeded to get onr camp in order. . Tents were pitched. awningi pat op and table and benches constructed, to that by Dlgbt we were decidedly at borne. Each succeeding day brought Its pleasures and also Its troubles, and swarma of yellow Jackets. One of our greatest trials was tbe exceeding Iresh ness of some of our party, aa it re quired large quantities of salt to keep them from spoiling even in tha cool niffhts wa eniored op there. We had for amusement, croquet, flinoh and pit games. Boating on tbe lake was a eource of muoh pleasure to all. This last week being somewhat cool, it was necessary to build camp fires to keep comfortably warm, and In cutting the wood to build tha same, Mrs. Moor distinguished herself aa tbe champion oi the camp. Mr. Day may justly pride herself on Her skui in cooking, especially pancakes. I never did see pancakes disappear quite as they did in onr camp. In faot arerythiog Just simply vanished when the jolly eleven were seated around onr table Mr 0LASSIf IED DVeRTlSi!NEfJTS FOR NALK -lions hold iurniture, complete outfit. But alas ! one day It was very warm and the gam feeling the effect of tbe beat sought another star boas, resulting In the loss of a look or two of hair but doing noiurtber damage. Quite a number of the La Grande people visited vs in camp Sunday. Game was very scarce, and Mr. Day being quite a sportsman waa accordingly disappointed. Bat hie disappointment waa somewhat lessened when called to get his rifle and shoot an Innocent owl In a tree right in camp. It Is needless to state tbat he lost no time la going after that owl. Mrs. Cowen discovered that horse hair makes a good mattress when need Jod loionsly. There were many other im portant discoveries made, but for lack of time war not developed Oca laat night In camp waa destined to be a memorable one. While the crowd was deeply interested In a game of "Pit", a real live ghost suddenly appeared on the scene, ceasing quit a commotion and nearly a stampede Then ahortly after her gbostship re tired, a strange man made his apneas. ance. He wa oordiaiiy greeted how ever, and spent the night in osmp, bat in tbe morning was nowhere to be fonnd. Fortuoately he left his clothes eo in all probability .he will be Idanti fled soon. We broke camp at 8 :30 Friday morn ins each on feeling that our time pent In the hill was on to be long remembered by all.
