tro followed with a notice to the
French cable company, of his
intention to cancel the conces
sion and ni n the To

merely desirous of a storm he
is in line to have bis wishes
gratified, but it is difficult to
imagine any man in possessisn

Castro is acting, without some
one or some power at bis side

port. Either that, or Presi
dent Castro needs examination
by an alienist.
No power can afford to defy

desirous of touting the Monroe
doctrine and that Castro him
self is a party to the scheme.

will be properly and conclusive
ly met by the United States if

The Crop Exporter for March
1905, a monthly published by
authority f the Seeretarv of
Agrknltnre, reached the Ob
server on Wedaesday merning.
It gives the total of the wheat
crop of 1904 in the United
SUtee at 6529017 bushels
and the amount, remaining in
farmers bands rn March 1 was
111,000,000 bushels or 20.1 per
cent of the crop grown.
Oregon grew 14,050493 bu.
of wheat in 1904 of which 64
percent or 8,992,123 bushels
were shipped out of the county
in which grown.
Fourteen per cent of the Ore
gon wheat crop of 1904 was re
ported on band on March 1.
