. The Farmer's Institute held at 8am
mervllle March 6 was a most 'lostrue
tlve and beneficial meeting to all those
who attended. .
The afternoon session showed a lack
of interest on the part of the farmers
bot the evening session witnessed a
packed bouse and much interest ex
pressed by those present.
To those who remained away from
either their own stock of knowledge
being already too great, a lack 'of am
bition to move cat among their fellow
men, we can only say yoa are letting
golden opportunities slip through yonr
grasp and your next door neighbor
will one day possess a goal far beyond
your desire or capabilities,
The entertainment In a musical way
and recitations was of such merit as to
call forth great applause from an ap
preciative audience.
To the Professors from our State
Agricultural College we should all be
very grateful for their willingness and
pains to Impart the special knowledge
they possess along the lines of vital
Interest to the Prince of Amerloa"

Wilkesbarra Pa March 9-While
seven workmen were being hoisted In
the carriage in the Clear Spring col
liery at West Pittaton today, the rope
broke and the men were hurled to the
bottom, a distance of 260 feet. All
were killed.
