Council Meeting
The council met last evening with
every member present. While there
was considerable routine work accom
plished, there was nothing of an un
usual character.
An ordinance was passed providing
that the city marshall and deputy
should appear, while on duty in police,
mans uniform, with his insignia ol
office in plain sight, also bis billy
suspended Irom his b3lt.
The eounoil made a contract with
J D McKennon for the use of a lot to
be used for impounding of loose stock
also a party to watch the unruly crea
tures, consequently, if your cow fails
to come up some of these fine morn
niogs, it may save time and trouble
to visit the city pound. J
The long delayed dog tags have ar
rived and it will soon be in fashion for
your pet dog to wear an official stamp
of the city to insure its life to a good
ripe old ge. '

Harold Pennington, the ll-yearold
son ot J W Psunington who lives on
the Hampton ranch three miles from
the city, has been missing from home
since last Friday. -The boy came to
the city with his father and waa per
mitted to visit friends until time to
return borne. Since then the lad has
not been seen in tbe city and what baa
become of him is a mystery.-' '."
Mr Pennington aaid yesterday bis
son was fearless and ready to meet
strangers, and accordingly believes the
youngster has been spirited away.
The boy was wearing a red swester
and long trousers. His coat was also
torn. Mr Pennington is anxious about
the whereabouts ot his son and desires
that any persons who has seen the
boy lately to communicate with him.

road machine, and the effects are
plainly seen in more places tuan one,
and much is expected in that direc

bridges where the old ones are becom
