There should be some effort made to secure ' a hospital in this city. It is needed not on ly needed but would be a pay ing investment. I. E. Snook Music R P Talt, the pioneer music teacher of Grande Ronde Valley, is still in the ring. During my vacation I made it my business as well as pleasure to at tend concerts, operas, and ' In fact everything In my line of buslnens and I found that I as a teacher, and in terpreter of muaio am atlil in the front rank. Pupils who do not wish the full conservatory course may take the pop ular pisco course. This places the pupil in position to play the popular munio of the day, Church and Sunday School music The Violin popular course places the pupil In position to play all kinds of dance muaio as well aa light overtures. Quite a number of musicians who have been under my Instruction are now making good money as teachers and soloists. Pupils who are under my care will be thoroughly instructed in music. R P TAIT, teacher. Peddlers iu the northwest will earn all the money they get if the proposed legislation of the merchants of Idaho, Oregoa and Washiugton becomes a law at this session of the legislature. A bill for the licensing and re stricting them has been intro duced in the Idaho and Oregon legislatures and will be present ed to the Washington legisla ture in a few days. The good road movement is being seriously considered by the citixeus of this county. The demiind is growing so rapidly that our county court will be compelled to arrange for a more extensive plan than now em ployed. It means much to the farmer whether he can haul from 4000 to 6000 pounds to market or whether he can hardly get there with 1000 pounds.
