Benson Sept. 6, 1973 — Sept. 14, 2017 Holly Benson, 44, passed away on Sept. 14, 2017, after a sudden and Holly unexplained illness at OH- Benson SU in Portland. Holly was born in Salem on Sept. 6, 1973, to Benjamin and Donna Benson. She grew up in Mount Angel and gradu- ated in 1991 from JFK High School, where she enjoyed playing sports and cheerleading. After graduating, she went on to attend Oregon State Univer- sity, becoming a loyal Beavers fan and pursuing a degree in finance. She worked in the mortgage industry and eventually became a loan processor for a large company in the Portland area. One of the happiest moments of her life was when her son Josh was born in 2004. Holly was a wonderful mother who was always involved in her son’s various sports activities, going to Hagg Lake and visiting California. She was an excep- tional cook, always trying out new reci- pes and posting them on Facebook. Holly was a fun-loving person who loved to laugh and spend time with friends, including her best friend, Jaime Reel. But her most precious moments were spent with her son Cory and their new dog, Roxy. She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Benson. Holly leaves behind her son, Joshua Breedlove; mother Don- na Benson (John McWilliams); sister Poppy Benson; nephews Tyson and Bra- dy; many aunts, uncles and cousins; the love of her life, Cory Boren, who made her life happy; and many friends. A loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, she will be truly missed by all who knew her. Ronald “Ron” Edwin Bielenberg July 18, 1959 — Sept. 18, 2017 Ronald “Ron” Edwin Bielenberg passed away on Sept. 18, 2017, at the age of 58. Ron lost his battle with lung cancer due to on the job exposure. He continued living his last days with admirable grace and dignity. Born in Silverton on July 18, 1959, to Anthony C. “Tony” Bielenberg and Ronald Darline Marie Bielenberg Bielenberg (Ward) Stafford, he was one of seven children. Ron married his high school sweet- heart Cheryl on May 31, 1980, and be- came a fire fighter for Tualatin Valley the same year. He would remain with TVF&R for his entire firefighting ca- reer. Through TVF&R, he worked on the hazmat team and was an avid scuba div- er, becoming an instructor for the water rescue team. Ron loved to travel with his family, of- ten packing them up for one crazy ad- venture after another. He loved cruising on his boat and as the Portland Christmas Ships President, Ron was a strong leader who loved giving back to his community. Ron and Cheryl returned to Scotts Mills in 2003, purchasing the family home that he helped build when he was 16. He be- came the mayor of his home town for several years, during which time he commissioned a statue in honor of his late father who had been the Scotts Mills fire chief for 30 years. Ron is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cheryl Lynn Bielenberg of Scotts Mills; his two children, Robin Welch (Jeff) of Scotts Mills and Ryan Bielen- berg (Crystal) of The Dalles; his six grandchildren: Kyla and Carter Welch, and Aidan, Heidi, Lilly and Rylie Bielen- berg. He was preceded in death by his first grandson, Alexander Bielenberg. Ron was the captain of his crew, al- ways looking out for others. Even as he faced his last battle, he was determined to spread the word on the growing rate of cancer in firefighters. He opened up his life to hundreds of people through social media and allowed so many to follow his journey that he called his cruise. He was an inspiration on how to live your life with meaning and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. Sept. 29, at Holy Rosary Church in Scotts Mills. Arrangements are by Unger Funeral Chapel. Donald Joseph Buyserie, 91, passed away Sept. 16, 2017, at Marquis Silver Gardens in Silverton. He was born on Feb. 12, 1926, to Jo- seph and Esther Buyserie in Portland. He was one of three children. Don grew up in the St. Paul area, graduating from St. Paul Union High School. He married Clara Marie Baune on Nov. 25, 1950, in Woodburn, and together they had four children. They farmed and lived in St. Paul for 60 years. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul Catholic Church of St. Paul and an active member of the Knight of Columbus. Don is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Buyserie. He is survived by chil- dren Linda (Jim) Noe of Carpinteria, California, Doug (Margaret) Buyserie of St. Paul, JoAnn (Dan) Keeley of St. Paul and Calvin (Lisa) Buyserie of Silverton; 16 grandchildren and 21great-grandchil- dren. Rosary will be at 9:45 a.m. followed by a mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Don will be laid to rest at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Angel. OBITUARIES Dallas T. “Dolly” Bollinger Evelyn Haugen Fisher June 16, 1916 — Sept. 16, 2017 Dallas T. “Dolly” Boll- inger, 101, passed away in Dallas Silverton on Sept. 16, 2017. Bollinger Dolly was born in Man- icke, Montana, to Fredrick and Augusta (Pruess) Manicke on June 16, 1916. Dolly married Arthur Dale Bollinger on Dec. 13, 1935. They moved in 1936 to Portland, where their daughter Marbeth was born. Dolly moved with her family to Silver- ton in 1947. She owned and operated Friendly Florist in Silverton for 21 years. Together they followed their dream by building a two-story log cabin on their portion of the Manicke homestead, where she was born and they spent the next 30 summers in Montana. Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Dale Bollinger (2006) and grandson, Michael. She is survived by her daughter, Marbeth Lorenzen; granddaughter Karla; and great-grand- children Eric, Patrick, Tannen and Kira. She will be missed by all those that knew her. A memorial service was held at Sil- verton United Methodist Church with burial at Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements by Unger Funeral Chapel of Silverton. Aug. 10, 1923 — Sept. 19, 2017 Evelyn Haugen Fisher died Sept. 19 at the Mount Angel Towers in Mount Evelyn Angel. Evelyn was born Fisher Aug. 10, 1923, to Carl and Daisy Haugen in Silverton. She graduat- ed from Silverton High School in 1942. After graduation, she worked in the Silverton telephone office. On Nov. 23, 1947, she was united in marriage to Bob Fisher. To this union a daughter, Kather- ine, was born. Evelyn and Bob then worked the family farm until their re- tirement in 1992. Evelyn loved to play cards and dance. She and Bob spent many a Saturday night square dancing, attending area dances or going to the Eagles Club, where they were members for many years. She was also a member of the Union Hills Woman’s Club and later the McAlpin Stitchers. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and brother, Marvin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in- law, Kathy and Terry Patterson of Sub- limity; grandchildren Josiah and Anna; sister Elmira Boehmer of Mount Angel; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Sept. 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Silverton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may Bobby J. Brady Jan. 13, 1943 — Sept. 9, 2017 Bobby, 74, died Sept. 9 in Stayton. He was born in Many, Louisiana, and grew up there. Bobby moved to Oregon in 1968 from California, living in Mt. Angel and Salem until moving to Mehama four years ago. He worked for many years in mainte- nance for a municipal. Bobby was a member of the Flywheel Car Club. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, gold mining and loved his two cats as compan- ions. Bobby is survived by sons Steven Brady of Silverton and Sean Brady of San Dimas, California; brothers Jack Brady of Yreka, California, Bill Brady of San Dimas, California, and Tom Brady of Golden Shores, Arizona; sisters Bonnie Moore of Gaston and Dolly Mohr of Many, Louisiana; and his very close friend, Cheryl Hafner, of Gates.
