The Kiwanis Club saluted the clinic on its website dedicated to the parade: “SCAC’s grand marshal designation honors the esteemed members of our community who have dedicated them- selves and their careers to improving the care and quality of life for all animals − especially pets.” In keeping with tradition, the proces- sion proved colorful and festive for all ages and critters. There were scores of dogs, but also bunnies, goats, kitty cats, rodents, hens, horses and at least one jol- ly hog. Silverton Police extended the down- town festivities with a cycling safety clinic following the parade. If you missed it, don’t be blue about it. Planning for the next year’s parade be- gins immediately after the cleaning crew finishes up its tail-end-of-the-pro- cession tasks.
