July 3, 1940 — March 25, 2016 David Lee Trapp, at 75 years of age, commenced his greatest of all naps next to a warm fire in his easy chair, passing peacefully out of this world and into the here- after at 11 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016. He was born on July 3, 1940, to parents Basil and Eva (neé Wilcurt) Trapp in Indiana. Dave moved to Oregon in October of 1965 with his degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University (class of 1965). He immediately fell in love with the im- mense, rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The same adventurous spirit that brought him out here never left him. Once he set his mind to something, he would study how it worked and fear lessly throw his whole self into it. Inter- ests included city plan- ning, building things in his shop, farming, flying, hunting, packing with his donkeys in the moun- tains, fishing in the lakes and rivers, playing music and cooking. He sur- rounded himself with an always amusing cast of characters, built great things, worked hard, played hard (yes, he won — dying with the most toys!) and shared a lot of love and laughter with us. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa (neé Paradis); his daughter, Kerri; son, Jeffery; nu- merous cousins and two donkeys, Annabelle and Albert. Water level Continued from Page 1A Clemans stressed that more rain will likely be needed. Although the Wil- lamette Basin’s snow- pack, which is near nor- mal, will help, Detroit Lake depends almost en- tirely on rainfall to fill. “If it doesn’t rain at all between now and mid- May, we can’t guarantee that we’ll reach the maxi- mum elevation,” Clemans said. Clemans said Detroit Lake has only failed to reach or get very close to its summertime fill level twice in recent history, in 2001 and 2015.
