A song "My Kitty" by three little ladies. Edith and Charlrtte Prescott and Cxbes McQueen was a great hit. Helen White also sang two songs. At the close of the program a dainty luncheon was served and the remainder of ths evening was spent in dancing. Mrs. Delmar Masten and young daughter are the guests of Mr. Masten's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Masten. H. R. Ketel of Aberdeen is visiting relatives and friends in Houlton, his former home town. Mrs. Libby Hendricks is on the sick list. i Mr. Lowe of Columbia City j was in Houlton Saturday visiting ; relatives. Fred Hastings is absent from the . city on business. Rev. Fairchild and wife have both ) been suffering from an attack of la grippe. Mrs. Holstine from near Yankton was in town Tuesday. Mrs. Edward Stanwood of St. Helens was visiting in Houlton Tuesday. Dale Perry attended the basket ture factory. Mr. Schoonover. formerly of Tillicum Tribe No. 52, I. 0. O. Houlton, has moved his family R. M. of Yankton, Ore., is fast be- down from Portland and is occury- coming one of the strongest lodsres in the county, A team of five mem bers were initiated last Saturday night. A number of loyal Scots went to Portland to attend the celebrations on Friday and Saturday nights of Robt. Burns' anniversary. The revival at the Free Methodist church is continuing to be well at tended and a great deal of interest is manifested. A number of con versions are reported. The building lately vacated by Powell & Harris would make an ad mirable location for an enterpris ing man, as there is now no meat market in Houlton. To move the enormous tank from the old cooperage building, out to the camp required three teams of stout horses. Messrs. Lake, Westley, Pember ton, Muckle and Williams of St. Helens attended the dance Saturday ball game in St. Johns last Friday, night at Bishop's Hall, ing his building on Main street. Mr. Schoonover is running a res taurant and is prepared to serve meals at all hours. Prof. Faxon, the former princi pal of the Houlton public scheol, who resigned at Christmas time on account of ill health, is now so journing in Southern California, and from latest reports is steadily im-! proving. j On Saturday nitfht, after ihe affair at Bishop Hall, a party of ruffians forced their way into the building by smashing a panel of the door. No other serious damage was effected, but a number of empty beer bottles were found shattered over the door and sardir.e tins, the contents consumed, left a valuable clue as to the perpetra tors of this nuisance. !Pitu" -Y- .
