Under the present laws all fines collected for violation of the laws is divided between the informer and tie State Came Fund. In case of a coi-viction in these cases tie c unity stands clear of all ex pense, but in case of an acquittal, and there aro more acquittals than there are convictions, largely due to an antipathy of jurors to these laws, then the county is called upon to pay all the costs and expenses. It is certainly nn unfair proposition to make the niimtv ainml the chance of pa- itiK out the costs and expenses of prosecutions and absolutely no chance to get any money even if every case is convicted.
