Tarred A School Ma'am
Three men at Lincoln Center
Kansas are on trial for having
tarred a school teacher. On Oct
ober 7, 1911 Miss Mary Cham
berlain, a school teacher of that
place, accompanied one Edward
Ricord to a dance in the neigh
borhood. On their way home
they were held up and while
Misa Chamberlin was having tar
poured over her body and limbs,
her escort was hiding in the
brush. Three men have been
arrested for the assault and
several more arrests will probab
ly follow.
MURDER AT STELLA

Henry Radcliff of Stella,
Wash., was shot and killed last
Tuesday at his home by his
brother-in-law, W. McRoberts.
It appears that Radcliff was on a
spree, came home drunk and
commenced to beat his wife. She
stood it as long as she could and
then ran for tha home of her
brother, McRobort, who went to
the Radcliff home and undertook
to pacify the crazed man. Rad
