Mot of Iat Monday and Tuesday was put in by Judge Eakiu ou the cim of Parker Stennick vs H. W. Leineke et al. The cae is not yet settled and It will probably be soni time before it l. The suit was brought by Meinm. Close mortgage given him by the Lenick Company on over 4000 feet or river front in Kainier. and ba. many sides. The parties concerned have been waging a legal battle about various mat ters for some time, as the Lenicke Com pany brought suit against Stennick and L. &. Thomas some time ago iu Multno mah countv, charging them-witu frauds in connection with other lauds at Kai nier. Tlie ca.e was dismissed as there was no ground for the charge. The land concerned in the present suit is valuable, being worth over f 10. 000. An option was taken on it some time ago by stennick, for f;UXH), and in the deal the Leuicke Company furn ished the money for a part interest in the land. Later on a mortgage was giv en to Stennick, and was never paid, hence the suit. There are now several different parties interested in the matter and the array of legal talent that was present at the trial included represents. tives of several of the principal firms in the state. The case will be argued in fortland next Tuesday. IVter In th.i case of Lee Stubbs vs. Felton. the pUiutili's demurrer to the defendant's answer was argued and lak - en under advisement.
