If total abstainers alone voted for prohibition it would be overwhelmingly defeated; but it is evident that a great number of the signers are men who frequent saloons and some of them are ad dicted to the excessive use of liquors. These are the most ear nest of all the onnonents of the saloon. Thev understand their j the visitor getting around own weakness and they want the temptation removed from their path. The home is calling them one way and the saloon is offer ing its enticements to drag them back. It is going to be put up to you to say which force you favor. The Mist knows that many men drink moderately and it does not appear to do them any harm; but we cannot see that it does them any good. 1 he law says you must spray your orchard in order to keep the j .j. pests irom spreading.
