Tlie father of George Murgatroyd, who is con lined in the couuty jail, charged with the murder of Robert Livingstone, visited his son on Tuesday last. Murga troyd, Sr., is a resident of Seattle. Violating Game Law A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Charles Hendricks, of Houlton, and John 1 e, charging them with violation of the game law, in that they did, on Sunday last, kill a deer, contrary to the st&tntes in such cases made and provided and against the peace and dignity of the State of Oregon. Game Warden Brown met Hendricks coming in from the woods with a sack over his shoulder, and upon requesting to inspect the conteuts claimed that Hendricks stood him off with a gun, though afterwards he gave him a geuerous sample of the meat. Tatuui, of Houlton, was quite seiiously injured while at work on the mill last Saturday. It seems he was standing near a heavy timber whicu was being pulled out of the river, when tlie front end of the timber caught on some thing and it swung around and struck him Dr. Cliff was immediately called to attend the injured man and sent him to the hospital in Portland. His injuries are not as bad as was at first feared, and we are informed that with the exception of three fractured ribs, he is now as hale and hearty as ever. Avon Lodge, K. of P., entertained their Ridgefield brethren last Tuesday evening. The ball was crowded with visitors and local members and all pro nonnced it a most enjovable occasion. Work was put on in the ranks of Es quire and Knight. In addition to the Ridgefield Knights there were visitors from several Eastern lodges, and a num ber of instructive and entertaining talks helped pass the time until adjournment, after which a tine lunch was served.
