Richardson is building seven room houre on his property recent ly Durchased of Dr. Rosa, It will be on Under the supervision of the mill wright, Mr. Gaylor, work is being poshed as rapidly at possible upon the construc tion of the mill of the St. Helens Mill Company. The mill will be 87 x 850 feet, and will be built upon a foundation of concrete piers. The contract for a large portion of the lumber has been let to Stan wood & Holstein, who agree to deliver 15,000 feet daily. Part of the contract goes to Rainier and part to Port land. The crushed rock for the concrete foundation is being furnished by the St. Helen Quarry Co. The first shipment of cement arrived by the Kellogg last Wed. nesday, and it will take over 200 ton of of concrete to complete the work. A large force of men will soon be employed and Mr. McComiack informs us that he expects to be in running order inside of eight months, starting with a force of 150 men and cutting 100.000 feet in a ten hour run. Fully equipped the capacity of the mill will be about 260,000 feet. Taken in connection with the new quar-y t may nfely be estimated that St. Hel ens, within a year lime will nave SOU then upon the pay roll, receiving in wages nboui $45,000 per month. And there is more to come. The Lades' Aid will hold a bazaar Friday evening. Dec. II. at the Masonic Hall, S'. Helens. Useful and ornamental articles of every description, especially suitable for Christmas pr sents, will be sold at the most reasonable prices. Lew Davie nreachintr the funeral eenrice. He wa born at Morris, Grnndy county, Illinois, on February 2oth 1849, and came to Col ombia county in 1852. Mr. Bacon was a man of a very kindly dipoitifm and most highly esteemed by hi neighbor. He leave a widow, two sons and one daughter. He wa a brother of Mr, James Bacon. RAINIER Mr. Geo.
