The city council had another meeting
Saturday night lo hear a report from the
couimit'ce appointed at the previous meet
ing to investigate and make an estimate
of tbe coat ol blowing out tbe stumps on
the road Irom the loot ol the Braden bill
south to Bridge street. The committee
reported that the cost would be about 120
and that this expense would be borne by
line property owners aloug tbe proponed
new road, and that the work can be bod
from voluuteert, to that a roadbed thirty
feet wide can be made on the new road
without cost to the county. The proba
bilities are now that a petition may go
into the county court in January to have
the old road tha now runs diagonally from
the loot of the Braden hill to Tringle's
store, changed to the proposed new route.
The people, so (ar as we know, are united
in desiring this change.
David Ivaslev and K. R. Jones, who
have been at Vancouver the past three
months packing prunes, came home Mon
day of this week with their pocket full
of "gold boys," we suppose. It took both
ol the boys to bring one horse to town
Tuesday morning to send him back to
Iloulton by the mail carrier, but then
there might have been an attraction here.
