The story come, from the Portland Jail
that Michael Pierter (our Mike) made
two attempts to commit suicide on Sun
day last, the reason given being that he
hated to part with bis money to the law
yers. Piertier was released from jail
last Sunday under 12,000 bonds, furnished
by S. A. Mile and II. Morgua, and if he
still haa a desire to try his fortune in that
country from whence no traveler returns
no one ran prevent him from doing so,
It is a fact, however, that Pierter has had
no difficulty with hi attorney., Messrs.
Dillard and Day of this place, and that he
reposes full confidence in their using
their best effort la bis behalf. So far
does this go that he has turned over to
Mr. Dillard bis entire property interests,
to use. in his behalf u he see fit.
