Co. will buy the Astoria and Columbia river railroad and discontinue their river boats between Astoria and Portland, and the business will be done by the White Collar line. That the bar service will be turned over to the Puget Sound Tugboat Co. Benson, the well-known lumber man, recently returned from a visit to the timbered region back of Clatskanie. He has had cruiser looking over that country for some time, and while there completed the purchase of a number of tract of line timber land, which bring up hi holdings there to 6000 acres.
