. Washington, Nov. 10. Moat people
in this country have no doubt long ago
come to the conclusion that work baa

brought to light a few years ago, tbe

raised about the Panama canal in ease

of a foreign corporation. There may

tbe strike to an end. Tbe mine oper

to make any concessions whatever, and
they are preparing to import more
miners from Missouri. There has de
veloped, however, a strong opposition
to the policy of furnishing a guard in
order to enable the mine-owners to
operate their properties and break up
the miners' union, and it is believed
tbe governor will soon be forced, by
' public opinion, to withdraw at least a
portion of the troops.
