' Tbe One Thing Boy Can Do.
The big boy of 18 or 20, 1 mean. It
is generally concluded that the boy'
time is entirely taken up by his trying
to find something to do with his hat,
hands and feet when he goe out in
company; that be only take time
from thi interesting employment to
bolt a hasty meal three time a day
and then goes at it again. Such hard
brain work as this i very exhausting,
and when the hot day of summer
come the boy find that hi tystem I
very much run down and that lie mutt
bave a rett to recruit up.
A a party which include tome
young ladiea, whom he very much
admire, are going to the mountain
camping out, he make up hi mind
tbat tha best thing for him would be
a trip to tbe mountain, hunting and
fishing. Ho, in response 10 a nint mat
he think is very well given, but that
is so pointed that it makes other peo
ple smile behind bis back, he gets an
nvitation to Join tne party. Jie
eagerly accept. Tbe morning the
party (tart he i on hand bright and
early with hi gun and fishing; rod.
During the trip he eenn to feel out
of place and to wish he hadn't come;
but when the camping ground is
reached there ia a change. He aeema
to know intuitively just where to find
the best lent pole. When a camp-fire
is wanted he ia referred to a knowing
how to huild one that "won't smoke."
Crotched stick and a pole to hang
kettles over tbe fire on are quickly
found by him; and when thing are
settled about tbe tent be is right at
home. Such perplexing questions a
the one above referred toare laid aside,
together with tbe accompanying awk
wardness. He find that he knows
how to wash dishe (especially with
one of tbe young ladies to help) in a
way that surprises himsel! aa mucn
as any one. When it cornea to roast
ing potatoes in the ashes tbe boy is
called on and hi are the fingers that
eet burned. Of course he goes hunting
and of course he kill nothing, al
though fishing he ha a little better
luck. And when he goe home to
take np tbe perplexing questions of
life once more be feels "much better"
than be did, and the other member
of hi party have voted bim "a splen
did hand to go camping witn.
