St. Helen. Ore.. Oct. 25th. 1920. The city council met on the above date In regular session. Present: Magnus Saxon, maycr; V. H. Brow er, C. L. Wheeler, N. O. Larabee, councllmen; E. E. Quick, city record er; George Potter city marshal; ). V. Day, city attorney. Absent: James O'Conner, councllmen. The minutes of the last- regular meeting wero read and after correc tions approved. Reports: The marshal reported that no lights had been placed on the city dock, that he had Interviewed Cole on the matter, who stated tha. the city should place poles thereon, which was objected to and discussed, and referred to the marshal. Councilman Wheeler reportod that some people were dumping cans and garbage on tne nm near me road. A petition was received from a por tion of the residents along California street for the placing of street lights. The same was discussed, and a mo tion was mr.de and carried that the petition be laid on the table. An application was received from R. W. Booth to erect three bungalows costing approximately $2000.00 eacl. upon lots 19, 20 and 21, block 41, In the City of St. Helens, Oregon. Permit ordered Issued. An application was received and read from T. L. Jenner to orect a small barn 16x24, approximate cost $100. on lot IS in block 132. St. Helens, Oregon. Permit ordered is sued. , A bill wag received and read from James Gill for expert services on assessment for Improvement of Cow Ut. Casenau, Oak and Tualatin streets In the sum of $25.00. The tarns wan discussed and on motion made and carried was ordered paid by warrant on the city treasurer. An application was received (ver bally) from John Q. Gale, to erect i private garage on lot 11 block 20. Same was discussed and permit or dered Issued. J. B. Godfrey being present object ed to garbage being dumped on lot 12 and 13 in Diock S(, in oi. neieus. Oregon. After some discussion of rhe same by the council and Mr. God 'rey a mqtion was mrde and carried hat' the city furnish Mr. Godfrey i team or other conveyance to re move the said garbage. .
