Rev. and Mrs. Hlsey were guests of the Hollingworth family Friday evening. Mrs. Eric Forsgren was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Peterson last Sunday. Mrs. S. Nagel and daughter spent the day with Mrs. Archie Beeler in St. Helens Saturday. Miss Crystal Burkhead Is spending a week In Portland. She is a guest at the G. C. Tlchenor home. J. M. Burkhead and family motored to the camping ground beyond Tren holra and spe'it the day camping. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Berdahl motor to Seaside last Thursday and camped for several days, returning Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. The road on Beaver creek In Co lumbia and Washington counties is deterioriatlng on account of heav traffio and railroad construction work, and the maintenance of a pass able condition has been slighted on account of expense, but nevertheless It is of the utmost importance to keep this road in repair and so want to Impress it upon the road author ities In both counties, as the numer ous complaints to that effect. The new school house on Beaver creek In Columbia county, Joint dis trict with Washington county, i completed. Incidentally the tall 200 foot flag polo which Is near tlili. school has been falsely designated os being In Washington county und much bragged about, but it is about half a mile to the Washington coun ty line.
