Mis Florence George came down
from Portland Tuesday evening to
spend n week visiting relatives.
Martin White made a trip to Quin
cy last Sunday, returning in the ev
ening accompanied by his mother-in
law, Mrs. Llllich, nnd her daughter,
who had been visiting relatives at
that place for a couple of weeks.
It is suggested that for the Infor
mation of transient wheelmen tho city
authorities should indicate, by clear
ly painted signs or other means, that
cvclists are strictly forbidden from
riding on the walks. In the absence
of any sign of warning scarcely a day
passes but wheelmen are seen speed
ing over forbidden territory.
Now that we have the horseless
carriage, we await Impatiently for
the coming of the horseless laugh.

thirds billion board feet of lumber in
1818. With proper protection, log
ging, and restocking, these forests
will provide for tho lumber Industry
twice this amount orever but fire
must be kept out.
