where they have pursued their studies
since leaving the Clatkanie school.
Among the number spear the follow
ing: Miss Helen Kratz, who gradu
ated Wednesday1 from St. Mary's,
Portland; Mis Thelma Fisher, who
is graduating tonight from Astoria
high schoo. Harvey Bennett and Miss
Elolse McPherson, who will gradu
ate next week from Franklin High
School, Portland, and Miss Magdallne
Pulllam, who recently graduated
from Corbett High School.
A bunch of local Elks joined the
herd in Portland on Saturday evening
last week for tlio wee!; end high jinks
which had been announced. It Is a
pretty safe bet that they were right
in the forefront of all the fun there
was from the time they landed until
their departure Simday evening.
There were some minor difficulties
in the way of the hilarious time
which hnd been planned, such as the
gasoline shortage, ect., but they never
let a little thing Mke that bother
them. If they didn't have enough
Juice for the trip up the Highway
they still had the ball game, and the
city was their's for the tuking. The

from the grange hall following the
