McClure left on Tuesday for Seattle to attend a church meeting there. Mr. A. L. Scint. who has been suffering with a case of blood pois onlne in the foot, is able to be about. The Laphnm family moved to Portland Tuesday. We regret their departure from the community. Joaauin Miller and family of Pres cott visited their parents over t!w week-end. Mrs. Cooper is still with her daughter In Portland but is improv ing slowly and is able to sit up for a few minutes each day. Mr. and Mrs. McClure entertained the choir Friday evening at the church. Refreshments were served and a pleasant time enjoyed. The bank has installed 100 new safety deposit boxes for their pat rons and taken out a Jio.000 blanket insurance policy, covering Insurance on the boxes. Mrs. Emma Van Clivo has pur chased the Watson cottage fornierlv owned by Mrs. Scott and will take nossesslon about March 1st. Mr. Wattson plans going back on his ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Bush were down from St. Helens Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Potson have a new 1920 Ford touring car. Mr. aid Mrs Shannon sratler went to Portland Wednesday. Mrs. Cox and children and Marlon Andress were home for the week. end. Mrs. Fred Gill returned from Portland Monday where she had been visiting friends for several days. Hazel Judisch Is assisting In the store and post office during Mrs English's Illness. Mrs. Casey and daughter came up from Olney Sunday and were guesw at the N. A. Andres home. Mrs. Louie Lengasher who recent ly had a throat operation, returned to Portland Tuesday for treatments. Mr. and Mrs. It. C. Scoffern and little daughter were down from Port land Wednesday. Mr. Scoffern Is chief dispatcher at the North Bank station. D. S. ScolTern, a banker of Miles, Mlcr.. who has been visiting his brother, R. F. Scoffern, left for San Francisco last Wednesday. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. Judson Trueman will be sorry to hear that they have sold their farm and gone on a ranch near Astoria. The regular meeting of the Grange was postponed Indefinitely owing to the large number of cases that may very well be "flu." Mrs. Rutherford, wife of the St. Helens station agent, had charge of this station during Mr. Scofferl's re cent vacation.
