One ot the last tlourtng mills in the state of Oregon to discard the old mill stone method of grinding flour for the roller process was at Kings Valley in Benton county. The mill stones used in that mill came around the "Horn" from New York and were in use more than fifty years. More dirt has been moved in the state of Iowa in the construction of drainage ditches or tiling than was moved In the excavation of the Pana ma canal.
