The Parent-Teachers' Club will: meet November 3 and expects to have a nice program and it is hoped there will be a good attendance of parents. ! Local democrats were taking a great deal of pleasure out of the report going the rounds this week about a n u m I, it of Hughes buttons that were sent out to the Hammond lumber camp. The report which c.imo back from the camp said that only one of the buttons was being worn and this by a man who could not vote. Iteport comes today from reliable sources that every button Is being worn and that the camp can us'j 100 more. West St. Helens school scou'd u very high mark at the state fair this year in carrying off the lirst, second and third prizes on potatoes. Miss Lucy Masten won Ural; Madeline Pasero, second, and Marguerite Mil ler, third. John Goodman won a prize on his pumpkins. This should encourage the children to do more agricultural work. West St. Helens is doing much needed Improvement, many of the property owners on tho main street aro building sidewalks to the grade, also several of Hie business houses have been rulsed, adding greatly to the looks of the town.
