George Curtis of Canity, was the guest of friends in this city several days during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Brakke, the newlyweds, are now pleasantly lo cated in the Paulton house. Geo. J. He has a brand new southpaw signed up to do the heaving for St. Helens. The new telephone directory is out and is much appreciated by tho sub scribers. So many changes made the old directory practically useless. The new directory was printed in the Mist office. The St. Helens people who are visiting in the eastern states com plain of the extreme heat, tho indus trious mosquito and electrical storms. They will be glad when they return to Oregon, where the days are balmy and the nights delightfully cool. Mrs. J. 11. Hobbs, who for the past ten days has been in a Portland hos pital, returned to St. Helens Mon day. Her many friends will be glad to know of tho improvement in her health.
