Well on his way towards get ting li i s applied science-associate decree in A -Kay Technology at O.T.I. is Vernon Dillstroni. Ver non started the course, which is three years in length, in January of last year under the Klamath Education Program. He got his prc-O.T.L training at Chiloquin elementary school, Sherman In stitute, and Sacred Heart Academy in Klamath Falls. He also put in four years in the air force, serving in such spots as Korea. Japan, and Okinawa. Vernon acknowledges that the course is a difficult one hut feels reasonahly certain he will land a good job once he gets through with it. He points out that he has already received a preliminary offer from Mercy Hospital in Sacramento, where he expects to start his cxtcrncship training next June. Some of the courses he has already heen burdened with in clude: four terms of physics, osteology or hone study, anatomy and physiology, spine and thoracic radiography, and several allied subjects. This term he is taking skull radiography, film critique where students learn the compon ents which make up a good X Rav film and professional ethics, and next term he will jump into dental X-Kay, X-Ray phviscs, and viscera radiography (X-Kay of the heart, gall bladder, and var ious other internal organs.) Vernon starts his cxtcrncship training at Mercy Hospital on June 15. shortly after spring term i- over, and will spend the next IX weeks netting practical hos pital experience. He returns to O.T.I, for fall term, 15. and will graduate and get his decree in December of that year. As for plan after graduation, he affirms that he would like to get the ib in Sacramento which he has been tentatively offered and study medical technology on the side. The latter course, he states, would give him 4 considerable training edge over the strictly X-Kay Technologist. Kliciting Vernon's own words on sundry subjects we received the following comments: The course: "It's real fine. It's a course that you know will be steady work." Of the School: "I don't know of any other school on the West coast I'd rather be going to." Of the education program: 'Im thankful for it or I wouldn't be here. I think it's done others as much good as it has me. Every time 1 turn around I hear of somebody else going to school someplace." Of termination: "I haven't really kept up on it. I've been too busy on other things." However, Vernon admitted that he does keep up on the O.T.I, basketball team and was hopeful they would trounce S.O.Ck. on their next meeting. (O.T.I, won bv a considerable margin.) 0 Students Named On OTI Honor Roll I.rwin Crume and Randolph (Hob) David. Jr., Auto Mech anics students at OTI under the Klamath Kducation Program, were on the OTI honor roll for fall term. With a grade average of at least (B plus) required to get on the honor roll, Irwin received a .75 and Randolph re ceived a 3.77. A hillbilly, asked how he had been sleeping lately, thought for a moment and drawled: "I sleep pretty good mornings. Hut after noons, I jus' toss 'n' turn." Baker, Nathaniel Klectric Repair O.T.I.
