She will perform twentieth-century master works for violin in a Faculty Artist Se ries recital at 8 p.m. in Beall Concert Hall, on East 18th Avenue. Tickets for this musical event are available at the door and are $9 for general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens. Lucktenberg's presentation in cludes the "Sonata for Solo Violin" by Erwin Schulhoff; "Road Movies" by John Adams; "Largo" by Charles Ives; and "Running Blue" by Victor Stein hardt. Lending theirtalentsto Luck tenberg are clarinetist Michael An derson and piano accompanists Mary Elizabeth Parker, David Riley and Vic tor Steinhardt. Lucktenberg is a frequent contribu tor to the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Oregon Bach Festival, and is a member of the Oregon String Quar tet and Trio Pacifica. She has also ap peared with the Honolulu, Savannah and Augusta symphonies and as a member of the Kasimir String Quartet. Lucktenberg's performance is only the beginning of what is in store for the School of Music. Also this week end, the Department of Dance pres ents Dance Africa at 8 p.m. atthe Dougherty Theatre. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens. On Jan. 18at8p.m.,Ji-WonLee and Pauline Bjorem will perform on the piano forthe Doctoral Recital at Beall Concert Hall. Admission is free. On Jan. 20 at8 p.m. in Beall Concert Hall, audience members will have the pleasure of listening to the Philharmo nia Quartett Berlin forthe Chamber Music Series. The performance in cludes quartets by Mozart, Brahms and Shostakovich. Advance tickets are available from the Hult Center, which can be purchased by calling 682-5000. Ticket prices range from $12 to $29. On Saturday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m., Dave Pietro will be performing the alto saxophone with Scott Wendholt on the trumpet in the LCC Auditorium. These two guest artists are perform ing forthe Oregon Jazz Festival and tickets are $12. On Monday, Jan. 24 at8 p.m. in Beall Concert Hall, James Bunte and David Riley will perform jazz and mod ern concert music on the saxophone and piano, respectively. Faculty and guest artists, including soprano Ann Tedards, pianist David Ri ley and the Oregon String Quartet, among others, will perform songs and chamber music by The Lyric Tchaikovsky on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. in Beall Concert Hall. Both per formances are a part of the Faculty Artist Series and ticket prices are $9 general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens. On Friday, Jan. 28at8p.m. in Beall Concert Hall, the University's own On the Rocks will perform. Established in 1999, On the Rocks isthe University's premier men's a cappella group. Tick et prices have yetto be announced. Finishing up the busy month of Jan uary, Mindy Smith-Gilkey will give her master's recital at4 p.m. Jan. 30 in Beall Concert Hall. Admission is free.
