Kulongoski has anticipated an in crease in tuition over the biennium of 5-7 percent in the first year and 5 per cent in the second year. “Students have been suffering from massive tuition increases for the last decade, and it’s time for us to put our foot down,” Petkun said. “I really do believe deep down in my heart that the way that the state is go ing to get out of this fiscal situation is to start educating its citizens and give them a bachelor’s degree,” Petkun said. adamcherry@ daily emerald, com IMB: Late professors wife to hold book signing reception Continued from page 1A Streisinger was appointed non voting chair of the art selection committee when the University built five new science buildings in 1989. She was commissioned by the IMB professors to make a clay piece for the entrance of Streisinger Hall, named after her husband. Lotte Streisinger will give a free public reading at 7 p.m. on Wednes day in the Browsing Room of Knight Library. The reading will be followed by a reception and book signing.
