and advertising.
"I have to assemble every little
piece myself," she said.
Piercy said getting a message to
voters is expensive. Minimum
mailing or television campaigns
can cost about $30,000, she said.
City of Eugene Community Rela
tions Director Jan Bohman said the
amount candidates spend on a race
depends on how contested the seat is.
She added that the amount spent on a
race doesn't always indicate its success.
"The person who spends the most
money isn't necessarily the one who
is victorious," Bohman said.
Candidates are required to submit
their next financial reports by May 6.

Petkun said he and Ravassipour
have met with Melton to begin for
mulating a summer plan.
"We talked a little bit about the vot
er (registration) that they're doing
right now to see if we can get me
plugged in as soon as possible,"
Petkun said. "Because that's some
thing that Mena and I are really excit
ed about and it's one of the major
planks in our platform."
This summer, Petkun and Ravas
sipour will plan the ASUO fall Street
Faire and start tackling what Petkun
calls the "sketchy scheduling penalty,"
or the absence of a full refund when
students drop courses late.
"At the same time, we would like stu
dents on campus when we tackle some
of these things," Petkun said. "It'll still
mostly be planning and strategizing."
