Inico joined the Ducks during spring term after competing the past two years at Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kan. Scott Lamb also shined for Oregon in the 400, recording a season best (48.12) on his way to a 17th place overall finish. The junior transfer from Mt. Hood Community College also topped his 2004 in door best of 48.55. On Friday Ryan Andrus cracked the Oregon top 10 in the 10,000 with a 14-second personal best (28:56.67). The Orem, Utah, native moved into eighth place all-time, passing Terrence Mahon (ninth, 28:57.79), Greg Erwin (10th, 28:58.0) and Brad Hudson (28:58.51). Andms, who transferred to Oregon from Wisconsin after his freshman year, also garnered All-American status in the 5,000 during the indoor season. ^ Along with action in the Mt. SAC Relays, freshman Travis Ramme competed for the Ducks in Long Beach Saturday during the Long Beach Invitational. The Eugene native made his debuts in the 100 (21st, 10.97) and 200 (12th, 22.70) and is off to a promising start. Ramme was one of the area's top sprinters coming out of Sheldon High School last year, when he placed in the 100 (fourth, 11.08) and 200 (third, 22.09) dur ing the Oregon 4A state championships. Fellow Pac-10 foe Antoinette Carter of California won the section as she bet tered Abildtrup by .08 seconds at 23.85 to give her a seventh-place finish overall. The only other competitor for the Ducks at the meet was Clarice Hay ward-Lee in the triple jump. The junior from Bellevue, Wash., said that her ulti mate goal this year is to jump consis tently more than 40 feet. "I really like my coach this year. He's a very talented coach and he's very supportive and he makes me feel like I can jump very far." Clarice Hayward-Lee Oregon triple jumper Hayward-Lee failed to reach that goal as she earned a mark of 38 feet 11 1/2 inches. The jump gave her a fourth place finish overall in the event. Her mark was fewer than two feet shorter than her new personal best of 40 4 3/4, set at the Pepsi Invite last weekend. Hayward-Lee credits Oregon assis tant coach Rock Light on working with the women jumpers to motivate them to improve on their jumps and to ex pect great results every meet out.
