/ OP Trips, Gear, and Resources Trips for Everyone Our trips are much more like traveling with a group of friends than going on a guided tour. Nothing is more rewarding than learning experientially among friendly peers and creating your own outdoor adventure. Rather than offer a series of trip packages, we encourage participants to create, launch and fulfill their own adventure dreams or just join someone else's dream. OP trip philosophy can be summed up in the following words: Cooperative, Environmentally Sound, Egalitarian, Low-cost, Noncompetitive, Participant Initiated, Self-propelled and Experiential. If the OP trip philosophy sounds good to you and you're interested to know how to initiate a trip through the OP, come talk to us. We have the vans and equipment that you need to launch a great adventure or a simple day trip. Check out the event calendar for the next Trip Initiator Clinic and start planning an adventure now! Trips that go Everywhere _ As long as a trip is aligned with the OP philosophy anything and anywhere is possible. The OP has been all over the world and nearly every weekend we ski, hike, boat or climb in our own backyard. Come talk with us about the possibilities. Here are just a few of the many places the OP has been: Cuba, Crater Lake, Moab, Glacier National Park, Mount Bachelor, Rogue River, Smith Rocks, Nepal, Selway River, the Arctic, and the Oregon Coast. ALUModes of Travel _____ Because our trips are posted by people just like you, the variety of travel types we get is enormous. As long as the trips are self-propelled and aligned with the OP philosophy, the possibilities are limitless. We have had everything from caving to surfing and everything in between. If you've got a great idea for a self-propelled adventure, come talk to us. The majority of our trips fall into the following modes of travel: Surfing, Kayaking, Backpacking, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Canoeing, Hiking, Rafting, and Mountaineering. Afford.able Trips All OP trips are open to any qualified participant to join and all trips are posted a reasonable time before the trip departs. Cost, decisions, and work is shared on OP trips- this means that expenses are low, decisions are consensus based, and everyone pitches in to make the trip a success. The result is trips in which: Everyone is Welcome, Decisions are Shared, Work is Shared, Costs are Shared, and Knowledge is Shared.
