The Ducks battled back from
down 4-2 in the final set to take the
match and compete for All-Ameri

“I think the match became psy

started to question themselves
and get nervous. It also helped
that we started to put more pres

Nagle and Panova take on Silvia
Urickova and Barbora Zahnova of
Virginia Commonwealth in the
quarterfinals tomorrow. The two
doubles teams faced each other in
early March with Urickova and
Zahnova getting the best of the
Ducks, 8-3.

Duck hurdle mania
Oregon freshman Eric Mitchum
will join former Duck Mieah Harris
in the field of the 110 hurdles at this
weekend’s Pre Classic.
Mitchum took the place of leg
endary hurdler Allen Johnson in the
field. Johnson pulled out of the Pre
because of a calf injury. Johnson also
pulled out of the Grand Prix meet in
Osaka, Japan earlier this month.
That will allow the spotlight to fall
on two Ducks.
“With Micah Harris and Eric
Mitchum both in the hurdles, in a
world class hurdling field, that
makes it even more interesting,”

All those times would shatter the

Bob Kennedy, the American

always like to think of myself, too,”
Holliday said. “That’s what it takes.
Whoever wants it the most and who
ever works the hardest, and I think
both of us have that mentality.”
The battle between college prodi
gy and world’s best must wait.
Meanwhile, Dragila will try to
break her own records at 1 p.m.
Saturday.
But the two could soon com
pete at the highest level if the
cards fall right.
“In 2004, to travel with her to
Athens ... I think the two of us
could be there,” Holliday said of
the next Olympics in Greece.
“That’s what I want, Stacy’s prob
ably going to go, and it’s a matter
of who’s next in line — and hope
fully I’ll be that one.”
