Dragila file Born: Stacy Dragila on March 25,1971, in Auburn, Calif. College: In two years at Yuba College, she focused on the heptathlon. Spent junior and senior years at Idaho State University where she learned the pole vault and graduated in 1995. After college: Won first Olympic gold medal at 2000 games in Sydney. Became the first woman to ever win the world indoor championships in 1997, equaling the world record of 14-5 3/4. in 1999 at the IAAF World Outdoor Championships, in Seville, became the first woman ever to win pole vault outdoor title by equaling the world record of 15-1.
