The Ducks and Beavers swept Wash
ington in Seattle for the first time in Pac
10 history, beginning with the Beavers’
win Friday, continuing with Oregon’s 6-5
win Saturday and ending with the Ducks’
6-5 win Sunday.
Washington (40-13-1 overall, 7-11 Pac
10) is 2-8 in its last 10 games. Two days
before losing to the Beavers, the Huskies
also lost to No. 2 UCLA.
Score one for
the Golden Bears
California earned its first Pac-10 weekly
award this season when catcher Courtney
Scott was named Player of the Week on
Tuesday. The Golden Bears were the only
program to not have either a player or pitch
er given an individual award this season.
For the first time this season, two
pitchers shared the conference’s Pitcher
of the Week award. UCLA’s Keira Goerl
earned the award for the third time this
season, while the honor was this sea
son’s fifth for Arizona’s Alicia Hollowell.
