News brief Pi Kappa Phi finds new home The initials are the same, but the name of the fraternity occupy ing a house near 11th Avenue and Alder Street has changed. This month, members of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity moved into the house, which was once home to Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. Phi Kappa Psi closed in spring of 2000 after members voted to shut down the chapter, University Greek Life coordina tor Shelley Sutherland said. She said she did not know why they voted to close it. Since the fraternity closed, no student group has lived in the house until this fall, she added. Pi Kappa Phi has had a chapter on campus for several years, she said. Last year, some members of the fraternity lived in a much smaller house off-campus, but the fraternity did not have an official chapter house. Substance Abuse Thursday, Sept. 20—10:14 p.m. An officer reported five people found at Pioneer Cemetery were in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Saturday, Sept. 22—2:50 a.m. A caller reported a female student had possible alcohol poisoning at an off campus location. Sunday, Sept. 23—12:14 a.m. A staff member reported three males were smoking marijuana outside the Hamilton Complex. Sunday, Sept. 23—12:43 a.m. An officer reported a person had an open container at Barnhart Hall. Sunday, Sept. 23—11:11 p.m.An officer reported three people at Fenton Hall were in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Threats and Violence Friday, Sept. 21 — 11:17 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle hit-and-run in front of Barnhart Hall.
