The Tuesday market will run from July 6 through October 19. Plants and organic produce from local farmers and nurseries are featured. Volunteer training White Bird Clinic, a Lane County human service agency, is conducting new volunteer train ing beginning in early July. The clinic’s services include crisis in tervention, drug treatment and general community health care. For more information, contact White Bird at 342-8255. Eisler lectures at PSU Renowned author and scholar Dr. Riane Eisler will present a public lecture July 23 at Port land State beginning at 7:30 p.m. “From the Blade to the Chalice” will focus on Eisler’s belief that peace and partner ship existed before the current patriarchy and can again through cultural transformation. The lecture is part of a two-day conference titled “Creating Con nections: How Our Spiritual Communities Can Help End Vi olence Against Women and Children.” For more informa tion, call 503-721-0511. Volunteer work party The Nature Conservancy of Oregon will host a volunteer work party Saturday, July 10, in which participants will help maintain and restore the Willow Creek Preserve in the West Eu gene wetlands. The preserve is home to more than 200 native plants, 100 bird and 25 butterfly species. Volunteers will meet at 9:30 a.m. and should bring a lunch, water and appropriate clothing. Springfield soccer tournament The fourth annual Oregon In ternational Rotary Cup soccer tournament will be held July 9 11 at several Springfield soccer fields, including Thurston High and Middle Schools and Gate way Kidsports. Also, a soccer clinic will be given by Kevin Stott, a Federation International Football Association referee on Saturday, July 10, from 5-8 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Springfield.
