On April 24 while inside the University Inn, where she re sides, the woman and a friend observed posters announcing an event sponsored by the Universi ty’s Hawaii Club with partially clad women displayed on them. The woman told police she found the posters offensive and believed the content was against University Housing policy. She then took down several of the posters from hallway boards. She also saw one on the outer door of a room, which was dis covered to be the room of the per son who confronted her, the re port said. The woman was later ap proached by the man in the Uni versity Inn cafeteria. She and one other witness told police the man yelled at her for taking the poster off his door and then threatened to kill her. The woman said she didn’t know what he was talking about. She said she left the area for the weekend because she feared for her life. She said she attempt ed to contact members of the housing staff about the incident but couldn’t locate anyone, the report said. The suspect told police he threatened to break the woman’s hands if she touched his door again and called her names but did not threaten to kill her. The man was charged and re leased. He is scheduled to appear in Eugene Circuit Court on May 13. Skateboarder flees after damaging car A car was damaged after a man on a skateboard fell off the board, causing it to hit the vehicle on April 25. The owner of the car told police he was driving near East 13th Av enue and Patterson Street when the board hit his car door and mir ror. The owner of the skateboard picked up the board and left the scene immediately. Police found no suspects dur ing a search of the area soon after the incident. The estimated damage to the car was $600. 17-year-old boy says group attacked him A 17-year-old Eugene boy told police he was confronted by a group of 10 to 15 men and at tacked while walking home from the University campus during the early morning of April 30, a po lice report said. The boy said he was walking west on East 15th Avenue near Mill Street when the group ap proached him from the opposite direction. He said he believed all members of the group were intox icated, the report said. He was asked if he had any money and told them he didn't. One of the men in the group walked up to him and pushed him in the chest, knocking him down, the report said. He told police several of the men then began punching and kicking him, which knocked him unconscious for a moment. The group then walked away, and he ran to a nearby grocery store to call the police. According to the report, the boy had a swollen nose, swelling on his left and right cheeks, small cuts on his left hand, and blood across his face and the right side of his head. However, the boy de clined medical treatment, saying he just wanted to go home, ac cording to the report. Absentee owners arrested after party Two University students were arrested for making alcohol avail able to minors and possessing un labeled kegs after a party took place at their residence while they were apparently out of town, a report said. Eugene police contacted the two students on April 29 about a party at the residence three days earlier during which two kegs were seized and one person was cited for issued a minor in posses sion. Both students told police they were in Ashland during the time of the party and left the outer door of the house unlocked while they were gone so people could hold a party, the report said. Both students were cited and released.
