However, while anonymous Justice Department and FBI offi cials told The Spokesman-Re view that the Spokane bombing suspects are being investigated in the Atlanta case, they cautioned that they have other leads and no solid suspects. “At this point, they are our strongest lead in the Olympics bombing,” one Justice Depart ment official told the newspaper. The three men are being held without bail on charges of rob bing banks and bombing one of the banks, an abortion clinic and an office of The Spokesman-Re view. MLK murderer in need of liver transplant 2 NASHVILLE, Tenn. — James Earl Ray, jailed for the assassi nation of Martin Luther King Jr., was hospitalized again over the weekend with chronic liver dis ease. Ray was taken to the Nashville Memorial Hospital late Saturday in critical condition. His condi tion was upgraded to serious at about 6 p.m. Sunday, hospital spokeswoman Freda Herndon said. Ray’s lawyer, William Pepper, said earlier this month that Ray will die within months unless he gets a liver transplant. Ray, 68, is not on the national liver transplant list and his sup porters are searching for a donor. This is Ray’s third recent hos pitalization outside prison. Ray is serving a 99-year sen tence in the April 1968 shooting of King. Villagers toss goat from tower in Spain 3 MANGANESES DE LA POLVOROSA, Spain — Defy ing a government ban and animal rights protesters, villagers in northern Spain threw a goat from a church tower in keeping with an annual tradition. People waiting below the 45 foot belfry caught the animal in a tarp and it apparently emerged uninjured. The governor of the Zamora province banned the ritual in 1992, and villagers had to content themselves with using ropes to lower the goat. Last year, the village’s new mayor, Demetrio Prieto, defied the ban and allowed the goat to be tossed from the belfry.
