Jon Woodward —Candidate for
Freshman Position
College life has brought many new challenge* !o

currently offered. Not only are the rates important, the communication

sentattve 1 will use my position for the betterment of the Bookstore m
such ways that are within tny (own. 1 will push for lower prices to ease
the burden of cost and lobby for increased accommodations lor student

Matt Hire—Candidate tor Sophonnore Position
As a member of Bookstore board, 1 would enact everything that the
student Ixxly wants. Which includes student discounts, book prices and
essential resources. My fust and foremost priority would be to set up an
active line of communication between the student and the Bookstore
board, therefore leading to a University Bookstore that offers everything
that college life entails As a Bookstore Board member 1 believe 1 have
the knowledge and skills to make the bookstore a valuable resource.
Erika K Klein—Candidate for Graduate
Position (1 year term)
The University of Oregon Bookstore is an impor
tant part of campus that serves not only the faculty,
staff, arul student at the University, but also the
city of Kugcnc, and visitors to the University. 1 will
be a strong member of the Board because 1 am
enthusiastic, reliable, and bring a broad perspective
to the position. 1 have attended the University of
Oregon for the last ux years, first as an under
graduate and now as a law student. 1 have seen many positive changes in
the Bookstore throughout that time and 1 hope to see more in years to
come.
As a part of the University, the Bookstore exists to serve its members, and
as a member of the Board, I will work hard to respond to the nccvls,
concerns, and input of the students. 1 have several goals as a member of
the Board, including regular scheduled open forums for our customers to
be able to give input, and to secure more discount on course books for
members. 1 want to see the phenomena! success of last year continue.

Chris Erickson—Candidate for Sophomore
Position
Itic Bookstore is a unique pan of the University of
Oregon in that every student on campus must deal
with it on one level or another many tunes through
out their college career, regardless of their area of
study, social group, or age. As a member of the
Bookstore Board, I will seek to maintain and
increase the diversity of the products and services
the store offers.
AIorȣ with this, the tSook&tofe must deal with the financial concerns that
•»!! students must face. On the Board, 1 will try to keep the cost of books
and supplies at a minimum while at the same time attempt to increase the
discount rate for students. With the ever rising costs of tuition at the
University, the least that the Bookstore can do is assist students by de
creasing our additional expenses
! am very interested in this position on the Board I Isclieve 1 can make
good decisions on behalfof the students here and am flexible and open
enough to hear suggestions, concerns, and criticisms from everyone.

Krisfi Wise—Candidate for Graduate Student (2 year term)
1 wish to l>c elected to the Board for two reasons. First of all, 1 work with
students on a daily basis and refer them to different resources and services
on campus. i"hc Bookstore is a popular and important avenue of resources
to students. 1 fed that by serving on the Board, I could jwovidc a large
portion of students with additional information In retrospect, I could also
give the other Board members a different persficrtivr through my interac
tion with students. Secondly, 1 love working in the Dean of Students
office, and 1 would like to sejvc the university in another capacity.
Janine K Foey—Candidate for
Sophomore Position
1 like the new changes I have teen in the bookstore and
wouki like to help continue to bring new changes as well.
Being on the bookstore board wouki give me an opportu
nity to get more involved with the community and being
a student, 1 understand how convenient the bookstore is.
If elected, I will gladly make my phone number public so
that members can voice their opinions ami suggestions
and be Heard.
