Sophomore quarterback Tony Grazlanl stood tall In last week's win over USC and hopes to once again take advantage of his new role as starter. Grazianl was pressed into duty after the Injury to senior Danny O'Neil. "It (Sunday) was great. I was on a big emo tional high after the game," Graziani said "It was a great fetding and it's something I want to definitely experience again." With the unexpected injury to Danny O'Neil. Graziani was ready to make his debut. Tho Oregon coaching staff had Graziani prepared fora situation like this. The week of practice before the Iowa game. tht* coaching staff had Graziani taking about half of tin* reps with the first team. During the week of practice prior to last Saturday's game, he worked full-time with the first team. "I was hoping to get playing time, but I hate to see Danny got hurt.” Graziani said. "He's a good buddy of mine. It's bad that it happened at bis senior year, but 1 had to be ready to step up .“ Graziani fuels that much of his success came from the balanced play of the running backs and the receivers "Dmo. I mean realistically, with the way quarterback Tony Craziani performed against Portland State, I didn't know of anyone in the city of Eugene who thought he would run all over a top-25 team in his first start I guess I just forgot to ask Craziani and his teammates, the only ones who really count. Trevor Kearney But no matter whom 1 picked, there was no way that I could sit in my living room and hope that this sophomore and his team mates choked. And yes. as I sat there listening to my roommates try to decide what I should cook them for dinner, and watched them dirty as many dishes as they possibly could (yes, my wager was cooking dinner and doing the dishes). I tried my hardest to root for USC quarterback Rob Johnson Hut I really couldn’t help feeling some sort of green and gold pride pump through my veins ns Johnson got knocked from hell to breakfast, and as Ore gon's defense made USC look like n flag football team comprised of the Emerald sports staff And yes, my roommates loved it. Hut was there anyone in Eugene who didn't? The only people who didn't love it won dered who these Dm ks were and where Eugene was located, because it sounded like a cool place to live Which brings me to those members of the Emerald staff who picked USC. Well. I guess that would be all of us. Person ally. I thank you for making me look bed. We need that around here We showed absolutely no faith that our own football team could heat a 15-point spread Wo showed absolululy no school pride, and we were called on it.
